The Young Researchers in Ceramics Conference, the first event organized by ICerS – Italian Ceramic Society and dedicated to young Italian researchers working in the field of ceramic materials, was successfully hosted by the "Enzo Ferrari" Department of Engineering (DIEF) at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE).

 Event highlights:

  • 95 participants

Best Poster Award
Margherita Bandini (University of Bologna) – "Data driven classification of ceramic raw materials and secondary wastes through chemical fingerprinting and PCA mapping"

Best Presentation – Traditional Ceramic Materials Session
Francesco Carollo (University of Padua) – "Up-cycling of glass waste through ‘weak’ alkali activation and salt templating"

Best Presentation – Advanced Ceramic Materials Session
Andrea Bartoletti (CNR-ISSMC) – "From shaping to sustainability: manufacturing strategies for ceramic composite membranes"

Special recognition goes to the Organizing Committee, composed of faculty members, early-career researchers, and young scientists from the DIEF, whose dedication and teamwork were instrumental in making this event a success.
