The Course of Study introduces itself

The Master's Degree Course (CLM) in Sustainable Industrial Engineering is a new LM-33 (Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering) degree course delivered entirely in English.

All lessons take place at the Carpi Technopole in Via Corbolani.

The (CLM) in Sustainable Industrial Engineering is primarily aimed at three-year graduates from industrial degree courses. It was created as a result of surveys carried out in the area that gathered needs and demands from the local and regional production fabric, and identified the following main features of the CLM

  • Transversal teaching and skills that, while building on a solid mechanical basis, add elements of industrial automation, robotics, IOT, industrial process management and innovative materials.
  • Training high-profile figures who can be the future innovators of the industrial fabric, being able to distinguish themselves both for their design skills and for their attention to the issues of energy and environmental sustainability of industry and processes.
  • Companies are involved throughout the training, providing problems to be analysed in the various courses and offering internship opportunities.
  • Practical experience, group work and laboratory activities are elements that characterise the courses in the curriculum.
  • Modern teaching methods and company participation: lectures in collaboration with company representatives, seminars on specific topics of company interest, laboratory activities on specific applications of industrial interest.
  • Soft skills: recent graduates must be able to enter the world of industry not only as engineers with solid skills, but also and above all as people with communication, interpersonal, managerial and organisational skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

The lessons of the Master's Degree Course in Sustainable Industrial Engineering are held in the Tecnopolo di Carpi, a purpose-built venue located in the Oltreferrovia Park, a stone's throw from Carpi's historic centre and the train station. The facility, built as an almost zero-energy building, is equipped with four classrooms of different capacities, laboratories and workshops, offices for teaching staff, and a series of rooms designed for student aggregation, study and group work.

The tutor teacher in particular can provide methodological and didactic support, aimed at overcoming learning difficulties (e.g. preparing for an exam, relating the contents of the various disciplines, clarifying doubts on study subjects) or can contact students in difficulty directly to propose support actions arranged by the University.

No compulsory propaedeuticity.
