The “Enzo Ferrari” Engineering Department has a vast array of teaching and research laboratories, in which first (Bachelor), second (Master's Degree) and third level (Doctorate) students carry out experimental activities, exercises, projects and theses.

Laboratory activity strengthens the skills acquired through study and allows a balanced development of one's engineering education through the individual and group execution of experiments and projects.

The continuous updating of the hardware and software is supported by University resources and by the activities of the DIEF research groups as part of projects financed at an international, national and regional level, as well as by technology transfer activities financed by numerous companies of the territory.

All laboratories (except the geophysical observatory) are located on the “Enzo Ferrari” engineering campus in Modena.

Part of the research activities also benefit from the use of the following Educational Laboratories.
